YouTube and TikTok cloud downloads are currently restricted by the platforms and are not yet available reliably. Firefox and Safari are not supported by this package.

First installation

  1. Download and extract the ZIP. Keep the SourcePick folder in a permanent location.
  2. In Chrome, enter chrome://extensions in the address bar. In Edge, enter edge://extensions.
  3. Enable Developer mode, choose Load unpacked, and select the SourcePick folder containing manifest.json.
  4. Pin SourcePick in the toolbar. Open a regular webpage and click the icon to begin.

Update an existing installation

  1. Save your work, download and extract the new ZIP, and close the side panel. Back up important assets separately.
  2. Replace all files inside the original SourcePick installation folder with the new files. Keep the same folder location. Do not install a second copy or uninstall the existing extension.
  3. Open the extensions page, click Reload on the SourcePick card, refresh the webpage, and reopen SourcePick.
  4. Check that the extension shows the version listed here. Use the same browser profile and do not clear extension data.

How will I know about updates?

From 0.1.40, opening SourcePick checks the official release, at most once every 6 hours. You can also select Check for updates. A new version links here, with an option to be reminded tomorrow. Older installations need this update first. No notifications appear while you are not using the extension.
